Notes for Benjamin MEEKER


Hatfield's "History of Elizabethtown" states that Benjamin was the son of
William and that he was a carpenter (pp.81,82). William died c. Dec. 1690.
Benjamin left a will 22 November 1744, proved 11 March 1750.
Will made 22 Nov. 1744 in Essex Co., NJ, Prob. of Est: 11 Mar 1749/50 in Essex Co., NJ - Occupation: Blacksmith. Will of Children - Benjamin, Samuel, Phebe (wife of Nehemiah Ludlum), Esther (wife of Stephen Hindes) and Sarah (wife of Isaac Woodruff), Real and personal estate. Executors - wife, Phebe & son-in-law, Stephen Hindes and son, Samuel. Witnesses: John Clarke, David Meeker, Boynton Ramsden, Proved 3/11/1750. Lib E, p. 536.
