The will of Jotham Clark is as follows:
" In the name of God, Amen. I Jotham Clark of New Ark in the County of Essex and State of New Jersey, being of sound mind and memory, do make and publish this for my last Will and Testament. First, I have all my property to be divided equally between
my two children Julia and Cornelia and the difference of Five hundred Dollars being added to Cornelia's portion the purpose of giving her an education equal to what Julia has received. Second, I leave it to the discretion of my Executors to sell any of
my property that they shall think best, except my part of the old homestead at Connecticut Farms and the fourteen acres of land on the Springfield Turnpike which I purchased of Obediah B. Brown and John (Gardner?), and the wood lot on the South Orange
road purchased of William Halsey. Third, I appoint my Brother John Clark and my Friend Moses Smith Executors of this my last Will and Testament. In Witness thereof, I have herunto set my hand and seal this fifth day of August in the year of our Lord,
one thousand seven (eight?) hundred and fourteen.
Signed, Sealed, Published and Delivered by the said Jotham Clark to be his last will and Testament in the presence of us,
